Fantastic at Every Age

Commemorate and Celebrate!!!

I was delighted when a client reached out for a birthday photo session. As usual, I had many questions to clarify: Was it for a child's first birthday? A boy or a girl? Would there be balloons and cake? Where would we be setting up? After calling the client, a delightful woman answered the phone. I began by asking who the session was for and their age. To my surprise, she enthusiastically announced it was for herself to celebrate her 50th birthday! She expressed a desire for the photos to be fun and whimsical, and she had a particular vision in mind: posing in a white dress on the swing in her neighbor's front yard. Her excitement was contagious, and I couldn't wait to meet her and bring her vision to life.

It's a shame that societal norms often dictate that we should become more serious and reserved as we age. Perhaps it's rooted in outdated stereotypes, a fear of appearing silly or even despair over the thoughts of ones age. It can overshadow our desire to live life to the fullest. By embracing our age and celebrating the journey, we can find true joy and fulfillment. I truly believe we need more people to live life freely, dance in the sunlight, be flirty and fun, and seize each day to find their joy and celebrate life. Embracing our age and finding joy in life's simple pleasures is a beautiful thing. It's a reminder that age is just a number, and we should never let it limit our happiness or our ability to have fun.
